Forensic microbiology and geographical location: a systematic review

Establishing geographical location is a crucial aspect of forensic sciences, distinguishing between primary and secondary crime scenes, linking an individual to scene, or detecting sources disease. Microorganisms can be used as geolocation indicators since microbial communities vary according climatic factors (e.g. temperature, humidity, soil properties, altitude). Therefore, this systematic review aimed investigate whether the human environmental microbiomes help determine crime’s geolocation. Articles were searched in PubMed,Scopus Web Science using keywords data fields.
